Former Kosovo police officer Nexhat Piraeus arrested and later released by Serbian authorities

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diasporas has announced that in the early hours of the morning, former Kosovo Police Minister Nexhat Piraeus has been arrested by Serbian authorities at the White Land border.

Piraeus, Kosovo citizen from Kamenica, was travelling towards Bujanoc along with his wife and children.

After a four-hour interval, Mr. Piraeus was released and currently on freedom.

MPJD has condemned the Serbian authorities' continued actions, labeling them ill-treated against Kosovo citizens and as violating agreements signed between two states.

The ministry has called on Kosovo citizens to avoid passing through Serbia's territory to further information, to ensure their safety. /Periscopi/
