As reported in the report, the EU-funded investment is aimed at significantly reducing dust emissions and nitrogen oxids (NOx), directly contributing to improving air quality across Kosovo and beyond in the region.
The project is considered an important step towards modernising energy infrastructure and environmental protection, followed by Periscope.
The European Union has also said it remains Kosovo's main partner, with 3.7 billion euros in investments since 1999.
“Under the fulfilled conditions, works for installing EU-funded filters at the Kosova B thermal plant will begin in April 2026. This major investment will significantly reduce emissions of dust and nitrogen oxidities -- NOx ʹ -- and improve air quality throughout Kosovo and the region. With 3.7 billion euros invested in Kosovo since 1999 The EU remains Kosovo's strongest partner and largest financial assistance provider”, the report said.
