Starting between 10: 00 a.m. and 12: 00 p.m., Urban traffic will block roads from the Government of Kosovo to the Pristina Community, in protest of non-paying salaries and failing to adopt debt from the Pristina Community. The chairman of the Urban Traffic Union in Pristina, Ilmi Gashi, speaking of Radio Kosovo, said securing funds needed for the payment and stability of urban transport services are the two basic requirements of this strike.
Tomorrow's strike starts at 10: 00 p.m., by bus we're going out to transport our workers to the Communist facility. The strike will continue until the moment the vehicle dumps on Urban Traffic Recording. The decision, which was made Friday, has not yet arrived for confirmation at the Ministry of Finance, and there we have the promise that at the moment of verification they will be accommodated in the Pristina municipality and then the municipality will make distribution according to obligations owed. If they are not welcomed, the strike continues in the days ahead, depending on the conditions we will have”, he said.
Gashi has expressed regret over the difficulties that have been caused by the suspension of public transportation, but has said that the moment the vehicles are deployed, the public transport service will return without any delay.
This decision could have been made months ago, but why this has happened, they know it themselves. They must have been waiting for a protest. It's a bad spot to wait for protest to make a decision. We very much hope that it will not come to this state again, the town of Pristina”, he added.
Urban Traffic officials have stressed that all monthly tickets paid will be compensated for days in which users have not been able to use transport service.
Urban Traffic Strike started Monday, suspending all lines. 3m and 220 thousand euros are debts the municipality owes to Urban traffic, while 1m and 600 thousand euros, Urban traffic owes suppliers for derivatives, said chief unionist Ilmi Gashi. /Periscope/
