Meta announced on Tuesday a series of changes in its content modeming practices that would effectively end its long-standing fact-control programme, a policy designed to limit the spread of dezinforms through its social media applications.
The decline in old policy is a clear sign of how the company is being repositioned to Trump's era.
“We want to undo the procrastination of the mission that has made our rules very restrictive and very prone to over-intensive,” said in a statement Joel Kaplan, the chief of the newly installed global policies of Meta.
Meta said she will complete her fact control programme and instead rely on Facebook and Instagram users to add notes or corrections to posts.
