Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia has declared that the Serb threat to Kosovo has not ended.
Referring to statements by Prime Minister Albin Kurti several days ago, Macedonia stressed that the September 24th 2023 Banjska attack on Banjska and the one on critical infrastructure on November 29th last year are not expected to be the last attacks on Kosovo.
<x) It has been said by the prime minister many times that the threat and danger have not only ended with the attempt to annex our territory on September 24th, 2023, nor with the terrorist attack against critical infrastructure on November 29th of last year”, Macedonia said in an interview for RTSH24.
Kosovo's Defence Minister explained that threats to Kosovo stem from Serbia's hegemonistic and aggressive approach.
According to him, since Serbia holds in its Constitution the Republic of Kosovo as a territorial part of it, then this shows what Belgrade's goals are in both political and security.
He noted that Serbia follows to protect the group that headed the attack on Banjska (24 September, 2023) and the international factor according to him has not exerted pressure on Belgrade to extradite to Kosovo.
“Risk and threat remains, as long as the hegemonistic and aggressive approach of Serbian politics remains in the report not only with the Republic of Kosovo but also with other neighbours, as Serbia holds the Republic of Kosovo in its constitution as a territorial part of it. This implies that it is the foundation of the whole problem -- the political aspect Serbia has in relation to neighbours, especially the Republic of Kosovo.
In terms of security, we always see the threat and danger that the group that tried to annex our territory on 24 September 2023 and that continues to develop anti-Kosovo activities remains at large in Serbia, unpunished and there has been a lack of international pressure to provide responsibility and extradite this group to Kosovo”, he stressed.
