He said he met Jim O'Brien and Sasha Cassanoff with whom he discussed dialogue.
My first mission of the year took me to the States. In Washington, D.C., I engaged in detailed discussions with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Jim O'Brien and Assistant Secretary of State for the Western Balkans Sasa Cassanoff. Together, we deepened into the challenges and geopolitical opportunities the region faces, stressing the importance of continued co-operation and the need to advance in the Dialogue of Normalisation”, he wrote.
Lajcak has also announced he has met with US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma, ahead of his visit to the region.
He has added that with UN Undersecretary General Rosemary DiCarlo, they have talked about the European travel of the Western Balkans.
My moves later took me to New York, where I had substantial discussions with the U.S. leadership. A detailed exchange with UN Secretary General Antónnio Guterres allowed us to trade on regional dynamics, while my meeting with UN Undersecretary General Rosemary DiCarlo reinforced the need for well-coordinated multilateral efforts to support the Western Balkans on its path towards European integration. ”
