The chairman of the Government Commission for Unemployed Persons, Andy Hoti, said on Monday that the January 15th meeting is aimed at determining the work plan for future sessions, as well as addressing some important issues on the missing.
In a post in his Facebook account, he suggested that the Kosovo delegation will present several key requirements that are mainly linked to monitoring the implementation of the Declaration of Missing Persons, with particular focus on the archives paper, which they have addressed to Serbian President Allexandar Vuciq.
This appointment is an important step towards the implementation of the existing ʹDeclaration for Missing Persons adopted on May 2, 2023”.
The Kosovo delegation will be represented at this meeting by Halil Cenya.
The European emissary for the Brussels dialogue, Miroslav Lacak, has also spoken about tomorrow's meeting.
He also argued that during his mission to America, with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Jim O'Brien and the deputy head of state for the Western Balkans, Alexander “Sasha” Kasanofin, discussed the dialogue.
“Again in Brussels, this week's focus will be on missing persons with the first meeting of the Joint Commission”, Lajcak wrote, Clankosova.tv reported.
In Washington, D.C., I engaged in detailed discussions with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Jim O'Brien and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Western Balkans Sasa Kasanoff. Together, we deepened into the challenges and geopolitical opportunities the region faces, stressing the importance of continued co-operation and the need to advance in the Dialogue of Normalisation”, the emissary further said, Klakosova.tv reports.
The agreement on the issue of the missing has been reached during the month of December last year.
