On 18 January, the assembly will be held to elect the leader of the Association of Veterans in the War of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-UÇK).
The former head of this organisation, Hysni Gucati, has announced his candidacy for the post, claiming he has always been in service of veterans' interests and in defence of war values.
When I was in charge of OVL, I defended all veterans' interests and every time I stood by them. Each time I was their voice and defender of the values of the glorious war of the Kosovo Liberation Army,” said Gucati.
He stressed that his candidacy is the answer to the demands of OVL veterans and branches. “Today, at the request of KLA veterans and branches, I am a candidate for management of the organisation. At any moment I will be the true voice of veterans, defender of the values of war, and the greatest opponent of courts that unjustly combat our deliverers,” he added.
Gucati also recalled his opposition to the Special Court since 2015 and promised that he would continue his commitment to the return of fellow fighters to Kosovo. “As if in 2015, when I and my friends opposed the Special Court, I would do the same again, so that our fellow fighters and friends would return to Kosovo as soon as possible,” he said.
