Salwan Momika, the man who burned a copy of the Koran in 2023, causing violent protests in some Islamic countries, Reported He's dead.
A Stockholm court would decide on Thursday whether Salwan Momika, an Iraqi Christian who burned the Koran in a host of protests, was guilty of inciting ethnic hatred.
The decision was postponed until 3 February, as “was said because Salwan Momika is dead, more time is needed”.
Police said in a statement that they were reported shooting in the town of Sodertalje, where Momika lived.
The shooting occurred in closed environments, and when police arrived, there was a man who was “hit by the shooting and the same was sent to hospital”, the statement said.
In a later update, police said the man was dead and an investigation into the murder had been opened.
Some media identified the deceased as Momika and reported that the shooting may have been broadcast live on social networks.
In August, Momika, along with co-owner Salwan Nayem, were charged with “giation against an ethnic group” on four occasions in the summer of 2023.
According to the Aztecs, the two desecrated the Koran, including its burning, while making derogatory comments about Muslims on one occasion outside a mosque in Stockholm.
