The Commission for Human Rights, Gender Equality, for Undiscovered Persons, victims of the Sex Violence of War and Petitions has reviewed Kosovo Police Union's petition. There have been verbal confrontations at the meeting on this issue.
The review of the Kosovo Police Union petition at the Commission for Human Rights has physically slammed the deputy of the Vetevendosje Movement, Fatmire Kolcaku with the AAK's, Albana Bytyqi. The latter asked MP Kolcak not to praise the executive's work, as Bytyqi said they have not heard police demands for a long time.
July “is this petition. I don't understand all these praise. What have you done so far”, MP Bytyqi said.
According to MP Kolcak, the opposition over the years has heard police demands but has done nothing in this direction.
Meanwhile, during the first meeting of the police union, Imer Zeqiri raised police officials' concerns as regards wages and working conditions. He said there have been pay cuts of up to 600 euros.
In this petition we have presented the frustrations of all employees. The petition is organised by the union to show how disappointed Kosovo Police are with regard to the Law of Salaries and other conditions. After the petition we had a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs and agreed to talk at the next meeting and set priorities”, Zeqiri stressed.
The Zeqiri in this case also demanded that the Law be made to retire police officials at the age of 55, as well as those officials become health insurance. /rtk
