US Assistant Secretary of State James O'Brien will visit Montenegro today.
Amid many meetings, he will also hold one with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, after which there will be media statements, RRTCG reports.
Then, a Montenegrin-American economic dialogue meeting has been warned.
The senior American official who today visits Montenegro, in an interview given days ago for the Voice of America “decals that the US is concerned with the Kosovo Government's decision not to allow the use of the dinar.
O'Brien stated, among other things, that with this stance, the Government of Kosovo has questioned partnership with the United States.
I don't make vague public threats. I would say, that if we are not treated as partners, even we will not treat the Kosovo government as partner”, O'Brien said.
Kosovo must withdraw from the decision on the dinar, says the senior US official. Although the United States had advised the Kosovo government against such an act, it decided to implement it, without considering the advice of key partners”, he added, broadcasts Klankosova.tv.
Asked about Kosovo relations Serbia has since after the Ohrid Agreement, O'Brien said their implementation is up to each side to take its own actions, unconditionally from the other side. Serbia said it has taken two important steps towards recognising Kosovo's de-facto, such as the issue of license plates and customs documents.
