Russia has carried out a series of missile attacks in Kiev even in other Ukrainian cities during the morning of February 7th, Ukrainian officials reported.

Some parts of the capital have remained without power as a result of the attacks, officials said.

Several explosions were heard in Kiev during the attack, which is the first in February. The air defence was committed to destroying Russian missiles, said Kiev chairman Vitaly Klitscho, in the telegram.

At least two people were injured in the Dniprovski district, which lies along the Dnjeper River, Klitschko added.

During the entire Ukraine, sirens were issued at about six o'clock in the morning, when the Ukrainian Air Force warned of the possibility of Russian missile attacks in the country.

Early explosions were heard shortly before 7am in Kiev.

I was scared when the sirens were issued, and we ran here”, Tetiana, a 49-year-old who was taking refuge in downtown Kiev, told Reuters.

“I hope they'll tear down all [mistress]. I pray for our defence”, she added, until she embraced her two - year - old granddaughter and a little dog.

The extent of the impact of these attacks was not immediately revealed.

Ukraine's largest energy company, DTEK, said the Dniprovski district remained without electricity in part. Klitschko said the collapse of Russian missile fragments damaged several power lines.

Oleh Synehubov, governor of the Harkivi region in northeast Ukraine, said Russian missiles hit non-residential infrastructure in the town of Harkivi, the central administration of this region.
