QKUK nurses have called protest for Thursday at 12:00.
They have announced they will protest before the target of the USKKUK Directorate, with several demands, such as weekend labour payments, holidays, risk payments, extra hours, and so forth.
Also, nurses have said that through this protest they require equal treatment.
The call for protest was made by the former deputy chairman of the QKUK Health Workers Union, Enlirat Duraku.
His full announcement:
Dear KKUK colleagues,
You are invited on 15/02/2024, starting at 12: 00 p.m., Thursday, before the USKKUK/KKUR Directorate object protest with legitimate requirements like the following;
1. The CKUK Infermia Directorate,
2. Paying market additions and additions to health workers in the public health system, respectively, including our communities in the Law of Salat,
3. Work pay over weekends,
4. Work pay during the holidays,
5. The payback of danger,
6. Additional hours' pay
Let's not forget that our communities have been excluded from the Law of Salats, strictly the additions of the market and health workers to the public system, where other communities have benefited an 10,000-dollar extension for the 6-month period, while nurses, midwives and other health professionals 0.
Let's not forget that with all due respect a doctor for a Saturday (24h) is paid $28, about half the monthly payment of a nurse, while a nurse is $22 to 24.
So, in the absence of institutional reaction, based on guaranteed right with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, Article 43 “Freedom of Rally “, invited to participate in this protest to require equal treatment, your rights and dignity as the largest community in the public health system.
Since that right is guaranteed by the Constitution, obviously none of us should be afraid to ask for our rights, so I expect you to date 15/02/2024, by 12 o'clock, before the USKKUK Directorate jointly request these rights.
Until then, share this call with all your colleagues, because otherwise we will have no reason to complain about the injustices that are becoming systematic.
P.S. The CKUK union associations that share the same concern with us are welcome to join us.
Enlirat K. Duraku
