Jasharaj alarms: Schoolchildren and teachers are leaving the country, many schools will be closed

The chairman of the United Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture (SBASHK), Nundman Jasharaj, has listed several reasons why the departure of teachers and students is taking place, and one of the most important are economic conditions.

“They are emerging in Europe in the hope that they will have a better life, the economic situation and the fading hope of a better future in Kosovo”, Jasharaj said of “Zerin”.

Jasharaj warns that if the state does not take measures and that continues to happen, many schools in Kosovo will be closed.

This drop poses a problem, but if this continues, there will be a school closure. Our information indicates that even education workers now have a tendency to leave either to move to another sector or to go to European states”, he said.

He cited the example of Kamenica's municipality, which, according to him, has had to be an alarm for Government.

“The evacuation phenomenon is acceptable for years and is not a small number, the Kamenica case has had to alarm the Government to do a planning what will be done with this” situation, he said, adding that the SBASK has no mechanism in its power to prevent it.

Meanwhile for Finance Minister Iron Mqira, he says the minister has ironically raised the teachers' salaries by only 28 euros.

“Romanian Murati I'm saying ironically he kept his word and made that ironic movement from 105 to 110 the value of the cofficient, which means that we have ironic pay raise, so if we compare the salary to that of January, the upgrade has become only 28 Euro”, Jasharaj said.

The president of the SBASK, among other things, said that the competition to become a teacher or professor has already changed, because it is always becoming less and less loving as a profession, and that is why the Government has to raise the cofficiency.

The teacher's “profession is becoming less and more desirable, the government, seeing this discontent, must raise the co-efficin”, he said.

Jasharaj said that even after the insistence on fixing problems, you had no change, and that was his view of Nagavci's anger on the strike.

“against our insistence on fixing problems to Mrs. Nagavci, it's like keeping the anger of strike”, he said

And among other things, he also talks about the demands of free break for teachers, who, according to him, will not return to education.

But even after that, Nagavci and the Government are not taking appropriate measures and, according to him, there are not many teachers, as they say.

That's not what happened. They sometimes said we have a lot of teachers, but that's not true”, he said.

In addition, he said the silent, non-dangerous strike would take place as a cause for discontent with the teaching conditions.

“This strike cannot be declared by anyone, but unhappy teachers with the lack of working conditions, because we are not committed to high successes and high achievements with some foam soles”, he said.

Meanwhile, he expresses the desire for a meeting with the minister of education, educational directors, as well as the Parents' Council for joint planning.
