The November 29th attack on the Iber Lepenci channel is on the focus of important international media. as it is Fox News.
The Kosovo government has accused Serbia of this attack, which has seriously jeopardised critical infrastructure, leaving citizens without water and electricity in some areas of the country.
But, even more disturbing, according to the American media, is the fact that some in Kosovo claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin may have had his hand on it.
In this regard, adviser at the Foundation for the Protection of Democracy Ivana Stradner said Serbia is acting as a key player in trying for chaos in the Balkans.
“Russia has deep historical, cultural and religious ties with the Balkans, and the attractive narravities for Russia often stem from the Serbian Orthodox Church”, she said.
According to her, Putin exploits these religious and ethnic divisions in the Balkans, pushing the region to the brink of war.
She also noted that the Serbian president also benefits from the chaos in the Balkans, using it to strengthen his power control.
“Vuciq has used a strategy of escalation and de-scaling crises in Kosovo to portray itself as a source of stability, exploiting its position as a bargaining tool with the West”, she stressed.
Meanwhile, Albania's former ambassador to the US and NATO, Agim Nesho, said Russia wants the Western Balkans to be a neutral region and has difficulty acknowledging that most Balkan countries are NATO members.
“The events in Montenegro, the assassination of President Djukanovic, and the establishment of prorus parties show Russia is present. Russia has no support in Kosovo and Albania, which have opened up pro-American because of the US role in supporting the Albanian nation since the beginning of last century”, Nesho said.
Kosovo's Ambassador to the US, Ilir Dugolli, has also spoken of the attack on Varag in Zubin Potok.
All evidence shows a continuation of Serbia's aggression strategy, with the Vuciqi regime exploiting an abundance of resources, including ties to organised crime, in their efforts to cause damage and cause instability within Kosovo”, he said.
This is only the last one on Serbia's “long-standing aggression acts, the ambassador added.
Approximately 20 kilos of explosives were used in the massive explosion in what Ambassador Dugolli called a very sophisticated way, further pointing to professional preparation and execution of the operation, says Fox News.
