Co-operation with Interpol: Kosovo police conducted 80 extraditions within year

Kosovo police, all its structures, have continued activities this year in implementing tasks stemming from the 2021-2025 Strategic Development Plan and carrying out routine-day tasks in the field of security. So has the Directorate for International Police Co-operation (DBNP–ILECU), during January-November 2024, conducted activities in the field of international police co-operation, activities and results that will reflect the following:
International Information Exchange:
•Through official communication channels, The DBNP has exchanged a total of 18,528 information with various countries in the world.
International extraditions:
•A total of 80 extraditions have been realised, 30 persons have been extradited from Kosovo to other countries through co-operation with INTERPOL and EUROOPOL, and 50 persons have been arrested in foreign states and extradited to Kosovo.
Participation in international operations within EMPACT:
• Kosovo police have taken an active part in three EMPACT activities (The Days of Joint Action ÉD), supported by EUROOPOL. The focus of these operations has been the smuggling of weapons, trafficking of people and smuggling of immigrants.
Police officials from the DBNP will continue co-operating with international police organisations and with police officers of friendly states in implementing targets in the area of global security, combating international crimes and pursuing the justice of wanted persons under international warrants.
