France's President Emmanuel Macron has nominated Francisco Bayrow as France's new prime minister, aiming to resolve the political crisis that has paralysed the country.
Bayrou, leader of the MoDem party and ally of Macroni, reports the BBC, is the fourth prime minister appointed this year, while his main challenge will be forming a stable government.
The crisis has started after early parliamentary elections, which left France with a parliament split between left, centre and far-right.
Bayrow replaces Michel Barnier, who was fired after just three months in office, after MPs turned down his plans for cuts and tax hikes.
Macron hopes Bayrow will avoid parliamentary blockades and restore stability, while the opposition continues to seek major changes in government policies.
