Republika Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti met at the Kosovo Embassy building in Belgium, Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs of the US State Department James C. Oh, Brian.
The topic of discussion was bilateral relations and current developments of common interest, with emphasis on the November 29th terrorist attack on the critical infrastructure of the Republic of Kosovo.
The prime minister shared with Mr. O'Bren details of the recent terrorist attack on critical infrastructure, in the Iber-Lepenci channel respectively, as well as the state institutions' response to damage sanctions and the provision of essential services.
The November 29th attack was an attack on the civilian population, since it threatened more than half of the country's population to remain without electricity and water, the prime minister said.
While investigations into the latest attack are under way, the prime minister underlined that, among the seizures made in connection with the case, in addition to weapons and ammunition, 74 military emblems have been found, out of which 20 are of the various Russian military units, other than Serbian ones.
Friday's November 29th attack was the third attack in three days that the country's institutions targeted.
Prior to the target were the Zvecan Police Station and the Zvecan municipality Assembly building.
Also, it constitutes the second large-scale attack on national security, following the pre-milial attack on 24 September 2023 in Banjska, aimed at annexing the country's north and where a Kosovo Police Sergeant was killed, and the largest and most serious attack on critical infrastructure, aimed at disrupting or challenging essential services, such as currents, water and telecommunications, and the social, civic, economic and institutional disorder.
During this meeting, the prime minister stressed the importance of arresting and extraditing chief criminal and terrorist Milan Radojic, for whom the prosecution currently has a 160-page indictment for him and his group, and who continues to pose a risk to the security of the country and the region as long as it is still at large in Serbia and has the support of President Aleksandar Vuciq and the state apparatus there. Prime Minister Kurti thanked Assistant Secretary O'Brien and the United States of America for their support of the Republic of Kosovo in investigating the attack on the Iber Lepenci Canal and bringing those responsible to justice.
