The chairman of the Government Commission for People of the Page, Andy Hoti, has said that after three years dialogue and unwarranted procrastination trends on the part of Serbia, the formation of the Joint Commission that will oversee the implementation of the Declaration on Missing Persons has been adopted in Brussels today.
Hoti said this step represents an important moment in addressing Kosovo's concerns about the issue of missing persons, which he called sensitive and important for families in Kosovo society.
The Joint Commission, led by the European Union, will be the highest body to be responsible for monitoring and ensuring effective implementation and complete implementation of the Declaration of Missing Persons”.
“At the same time, it will serve as a platform, where we will finally be able to address all of our concerns in the process, and the failure to address these impasses or obstacles; including Serbia's lack of co-operation in the Workers' Group and the refusal to open the relevant” archives, Hoti said.
On the other hand, he said he hopes that this step will serve as a moment of progress towards the final and long-delayed solution, according to him, the fate of missing persons and the relief of the pain of their families, which said that many time have expected justice and truth.
