LDK MP Avdullah Hoti has expressed concern about the way the government is handling the situation in northern Kosovo.
According to Hoti, the integration of the Serb community into Kosovo's local and central institutions is a must, adding that without this integration, there can be no long-term stability.
He stressed that adequate representation of Serbs in state structures should be respected, as has happened in the past.
I strongly believe that a responsible politician should be aware that a community is not ruled violently. I strongly believe that the north of the country must be governed along with the community that lives there. There is no other way. We cannot and should not support the governance of a part of Kosovo through special forces”, Hoti said.
“We need representatives of the Serb community in Kosovo's local and central institutions, as they used to be. We can criticise how vital they have been to the Republic of Kosovo, that is another topic. But in the past they have been part of Kosovo institutions, they have sworn under the laws and Constitution of Kosovo”, Hoti said on the Paradox show.
