Next year will be one of the hottest years on the planet, Britain's Matt office announced today.
According to experts, the symbolic record of 1.5 °C for global warming is expected for the first time.
In the climate report for next year, the weather agency estimates that 2025 “will likely be one of the three hottest years in terms of average global temperature, shortly after 2024 and 2023”.
The rise in temperature over the next year could range between 1.29 °C and 1.53 °C compared to the pre-industrial period (1850-19000), according to the United Kingdom agency.
According to recent UN estimates, the world is not at all on the right track to reduce climate pollution and avoid worsening droughts, heat waves or torrential rains, which have enormous costs not only financial but also in human life.
