“As you know, his family has been tremendously affected. I mentioned at the private session, you know what the consequences of this trial has been for him and his family, and you have the description from members of his community and you have to conclude that this person should go home, he needs it at home”, Gary said.
She said that her client's situation is very sad and that if the request cannot be accepted today, then Bahitari's release will be made as soon as possible, reports “Justice Vow “.
There have been more difficulties than others in custody. His situation is very sad. He should be home with his family for the rest of his time. We think this should be done immediately and please consider December 10, from that day. Please find a sentence taking into account his immediate release this day, December 19, 2024, from today. We understand this puts you under tremendous pressure. If you cannot accept this request today, please release it as soon as possible”, the lawyer said.
For Bahhitari, Gery said he has the low responsibility of guilt in this case, which he says has acted on instructions. According to her, there are no threats in these actions.

This is the lowest sentence possible for this judicial subject. It is a fair, appropriate sentence also covers the relief factors mentioned by the lawyer. This sentence has taken into account the fact that the accused has pleaded guilty, the time when he did, co-operation by the accused who has actually had limited presence, the character of the accused, and Bahijari's role in relation to the other indictees and health-related parading”, the prosecutor said.

The chairman of the court, Mapie Veldt-Foglia, stressed that they will not make decisions regarding the guilty agreement today, nor as far as the sentence is concerned.
“Today there will be no release”, the judge said.
