The period of voter registration application outside Kosovo is under way, which began 29 August and will end on December 26th.
Central Election Commission spokesman has announced that more than 33 thousand registration requirements have been approved so far.
“Based on data, by December 12th, at 21:30, following application via electronic platform (http://diaspora.kqz-x.org) has been approved 33,635 registration requirements, while 2,100 have been refused. In most cases rejected, applicants have not been photographed holding the ID simultaneously. The CEC informs the rejected applicants individually because of their refusal to demand, and also rejected applicants are reportedly able to re-apply for registration and attach the documents needed to meet their application in line with CEC guidelines”
“Out of 33,635 approved applications, 8,655 Kosovo citizens are registered to physically vote in diplomatic representation 5,330 are registered to send the checkout package to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo, and 19,650 are registered to send the ballot package to the post box outside Kosovo”, he told Klakosova.v.
Among other things, Elez stressed that the voter registration process outside Kosovo is not exclusive.
“This means that if a citizen is refused to apply, this is not a final refusal, as the same has the right to re-apply. The CEC informs the rejected applicants individually because of their refusal to request, and also rejected applicants are announced that they can re-appreciate the registration and attach the documents needed to meet their application in line with CEC guidelines”.
The Central Election Commission encourages all Kosovo citizens living abroad to exploit their constitutional right to become part of the election process in the Republic of Kosovo, initially enrolling as voters outside Kosovo and later voting”, he added.
