Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague today will continue the trial process against former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi. At today's session, his testimony, Shukri Buya, continues for the fourth day.
On Wednesday, Shukri Buja has faced the Special Court prosecutor in The Hague. Buja has said there have been no courts or bodies of investigation in the KLA. He gave that answer after being asked by the prosecutor, James Pace, if any soldiers of the The KLA in the Nerodime Zone was investigated by the KLA for the way civilians were treated.
Within minutes, the hearing was closed to the public until the prosecutor hinted he would be discussed stopping a man from the KLA.
However, Boya was also asked about a document claiming that the witness said that the persons who were arrested did not know where they were sent but that he was heading to Kletcha. Buya in this case said she has clarified the 2005 declaration, as there have been no arrests, but the investigator has used that word.
The witness has then answered the questions of Luka Misethic, Hashim Thaci's defence lawyer, who has asked Buya from the KLA's founding and the appointment of commanders of the zones. In this part he was asked even if he had received orders from Hashim Thaci, for which the witness denied such a thing.
Buya has also said that fighting between the KLA and Serbian forces had ended on June 10th 1999, while on June 12th had begun communication and co-operation with KFOR peacekeeping forces, after being asked if they have continued further.
The witness said demilitarization of The KLA has happened under the agreement, but there have been soldiers who have opposed the handover of arms and uniform until it added that the transformation of the Kosovo Protection Corps has occurred under the agreement with KFOR.
