From the Ministry of Education, they say they cannot negotiate documents and requests groundless in opposition to the Law.
Through a written response to Online Economics, AugustI has said this approach of the SBASK, in addition to causing divisions in teaching collectives in schools, does not contribute to the development of the teaching process, nor to the shared goal of increasing quality in education.
“Sic said earlier, such as the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, we assess that the approach of the United Education Union, the drafting of unilateral and groundless documents on legal infrastructure, as well as the organisation of petitions in schools for support of these documents is inconsistent and unacceptable. This approach, in addition to causing divisions in teaching collectives in schools, does not contribute at all to the development of the teaching process, nor to the common goal of increasing quality in education”, says the AugustI response.
“Sic we know, during past governments, in campaign periods, numerous agreements have been signed with the Union, which have produced legal consequences that our institutions continue to deal with. Hence, such a mistake will not be repeated. The question of salaries for educators is adjusted to the Law on Salaries in the Public Sector (08/L-196), and the value of the cofficient is determined with the annual budget law. As for the collective contract, MASTUS cannot negotiate marginally with SBASK. This discussion could be made by the BSPK and the country's Social Economic Council at the level once the conditions required by law are created. As AugustI, we have been constantly open to discuss and co-operate with the SBASK in line with the development and establishment of the quality of education in Kosovo, but we cannot negotiate for documents and groundless and contrary to the legal infrastructure of the Republic of Kosovo”, their response is said.
While, the SBASK has declared they would soon be forced to protest and hold a strike. These union acts have been warned by the head of the SBASK, Nundman Jasharaj in a media campaign. He has said that for two years Minister Nagavci has been ignoring teachers in their demands.
