Democratic League of Kosovo chairmanship member (LDK), Berat Rukiqi, has commented on the recent Kosovo Government proposal for the 2025 budget of 3.6 billion euros.
In an interview for Online Economics, Rukiqih has said that this government, despite the value of the budget, has proved that it did not develop.
This Government has proved that, despite the value of the budget and the numbers it sets in the budget, only development did not. We also saw in the progress report a specific criticism regarding public investments unfortunately, the lack of public investments, which means that we today do not see the return of our taxes to our welfare”, Rukiqi said.
He also mentioned some of Kurt's promises of building nests, schools, roads and business spaces, which, according to him, has spent 350m euros on the welfare of citizens.
It could come to more nests, more schools, roads and business spaces. This has not happened because the level of realisation of capital investments is the same when the 2 billion-euro budget was, like when today over 3 billion, and when it was 1.5 billion euros. It has not come up with an average 350m euros in these four years of governance, this has then reflected on the well-being of citizens even in the circulation of businesses and job creation, but also in the lack of investments”, he said, broadcast Klaankosova.tv.
On the other hand, he has stressed that despite the budget amount if it is not spent there can be no development in Kosovo.
It doesn't matter here that the figures that are placed on the Government these are signs on Excel for realisation if the tools are not spent and stay 800m euros in the Central Bank, which then the government of re-exhension with pride that they're making BQK profit, we can't expect development. The table may be 4 billion euros and more but if the same are not spent properly then we cannot talk about development”, Rukiqi stressed.
For the increase in pensions and pay in the public sector, LDK member has suggested that they are a ridiculous increase, adding that all these decisions are for vote buying, EO reports.
If we look at the structure of how actions were done before the budget and its structure, once a ridiculous increase in pensions, now rising wages in installments or conditions cannot be called budget use for vote purchase “, he noted.
Otherwise, on Wednesday the Government of Kosovo has adopted the draft budget for 2025, worth 3.6 billion euros. While Prime Minister Albin Kurti stressed that this figure represents a near 9 per cent increase compared to the previous year's budget.
