Pristina Community Health Director Izet Sadiku from Square “Mother Teresa”, where the campaign first submitted an appeal to citizens that the best way to protect from diabetes is prevention.
The U.S. Director of Health in the capital, as well as the world's diabetes day, is organising a sensational campaign that will last about 10 days. Today we are beginning with the location of the blue circle, which symbolizes the color of the unification around this problem and the blue color of the sky. Then we started with the inside of the urban traffic bus, which gives information to citizens, we put in the healthcare convoy, which will be located today in the square, then it will be located at Alby Mallow on Saturday, and it will be on Sunday and on Sunday at Vila Grmi; in order to meet as many citizens as possible and as much information as possible, measured by diabetes<1>, Sadiku said.
He said he will continue next week with speeches for diabetes patients.
Five lectures will be held in co-operation with the Andykrinologists' association and the Andycronology Clinic. Next week, we will also begin building the alcohol treatment centre for chronic diseases and diabetes, which will be the first consultant in the capital, for chronic diseases and diabetes at the main family medical centre in Pristina”, Sadiku said.
He said there is much interest on the part of citizens to measure diabetes.
And you're probably seeing that there's an interest in citizens, even though the weather is cold today, but the interest of citizens is growing, and our goal of talking to many people and getting as much information as possible. We have actually seen that there are many cases that citizens have no information and what we have done in Pristina. We in Pristina already do HRBANIC, which is a test that sugar disease will take place every three months. We do it free every day of the week at four centers of Family Medicine, Dardan, the Main Family Centre, the Sun's Coast, and the Xhemajl Ibish”, said Sadiku.
He has invited citizens to run tests because doing the analysis, he said it would be possible to know the situation and to diagnose the disease.
Sadiku said that in addition to treating the disease, the life - style, physical activity, diet, which he considers to be very important components that greatly contribute to the well - being and control of diabetes.
“Diabeth is continuing to be a global problem, about 10 percent of the population in almost every country are affected by diabetes, which is that in Kosovo some 150 thousand people, approximately have to be 8 to 10 percent of citizens. And this shows about the importance of people with this disease having information because it allows the disease to be kept as much in check as”, Sadiku said.
