“With the new commander of KFOR, General Enrico Bardoni, for a Kosovo where peace and security reign for all citizens, at every corner of our country”, He wrote Osman on Facebook.
Meanwhile, more details about the meeting have been disclosed through a statement issued by the presidency, which is said to have been discussed during the meeting on security issues in the country.
According to the announcement, Osmani has underlined the continued commitment to a secure and stable Kosovo as the precondition for development and prosperity, while reconfirming the importance of co-ordination between Kosovo institutions and international partners on security issues, in order to protect all citizens and the country's sovereignty.
“President Osmani expressed gratitude for KFOR, which has increased the number of troops which are supporting Kosovo institutions on patrol of the border with Serbia.
The president reaffirmed the risks stemming from Serbia's destabilising tactics, especially because of Serbia's lack of responsibility, both for the act of September 2023 aggression and for attacks on KFOR in May 2023.
Among other things, at this meeting, President Osmani and Commander Bardonini stated their common commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all citizens, acknowledging that co-operation and mutual trust are the basis for lasting peace and stability“, written in the Presidency communiqué.
