That was the question addressed to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in the presence of Macedonian counterpart Hristian Mickoski, in a question that has turned into concern that the decline in Albanian use in Northern Macedonia is being targeted.

“S first, this is a case for the MV Constitutional Court, as three provisions of the Language Use Law have been submitted to the Venice Commission, and these three provisions have been paradoxically not been implemented, have not been implemented in the past. And now, it's up to the Constitutional Court in MV to assess. But we need to clarify one thing. There is no law on Albanian language in Northern Macedonia, and there has been no past”, Kurti said.

Kurti gave her constitutional reading for Northern Macedonia, that “has no law on Albanian, and sʹka had in the past” but added that “aty has law that mentions 20% figure, but not the law for use of Albanian, but”.

There is the law that mentions 20%, but it is not the law on Albanian, but the use of languages. This is the first one. On the other hand, I believe we should all wait for a fair decision by the Constitutional Court there, which makes no exceptions or discrimination and respects the Polyglot there”.

However, in the Republic of Northern Macedonia, it cannot be said that Albanian has been an official language and is now being endangered... There are organs there that make their decisions”, he said.

This statement by Prime Minister Kurti has prompted reactions.

LDK parliamentary group chief Arben Gashi asked how possible Kurti trusts the Constitutional Court of Northern Macedonia on the Albanian-language issue in that state, while the Constitutional Court of Kosovo lynchs it for everything and whenever its decisions are not adjusted.

How can this be possible? Albin Kurti trusts the Constitutional Court of Northern Macedonia on the Albanian-language issue in that state, while the Constitutional Court of Kosovo lynching it for everything and whenever its decisions are not adjusted?!”, the LDK deputy wrote.

Meanwhile, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo leader Daut Haradinaj has sharply criticised Prime Minister Albin Kurti for his approach to the Albanian situation in Northern Macedonia.

Through a Facebook response, Haradinaj stressed that the current prime minister is avoiding raising concerns about injustice to Albanians in the neighbouring state.

“in northern Macedonia is violating equality and overstepping the rights of Albanians,” writes the candidate for MP from the AAK, adding that Kurti “instead of raising Kosovo's concern about this injustice, is trying to come up with some hypocritical formulaulations, citing the Constitutional Court. ”

Haradinaj criticised the fact that Kurti said he trusts the Constitutional Court of Macedonia, but has dilemmas in that of Kosovo.

Your manipulation time has passed in Kosovo as well as elsewhere, Prime Minister! ”

On October 27th, Democratic Union of Integration leader (BDI) Ali Ahmeti has sent letters to leaders of the region and top European and American officials, expressing deep concern for recent political and constitutional developments in Northern Macedonia.

These, according to DUI, jeopardise the Ohrid Agreement's achievements and principles of equality and stability in the country. ”

In this letter, Ahmeti expresses his deep concern for recent political and constitutional developments in Northern Macedonia, endangering the achievements of the Ohrid Agreement and the principles of equality and stability in the multiethnic state”, the DUI press release said.

According to him, the last 3 decisions -- the plan for abolishing the Language Law -- stops for identifying ethnic affiliation in state institutions and forming a majority government -- pose a serious threat to the peace and stability of the country and the region as a whole.

At the November 18th meeting in Pristina, the governments of the two countries have signed three co-operation agreements.

The sides have signed agreements in the field of energy, education, and ease of free movement. Kurti has said implementation will start in January 2025.
