Kosovo police only until October 15th of 2024 have initiated 1333 cases such as the “possession, control, or unauthorized possession of weapons”, the estimated number is even over two years. Field officials say most of the weapons without permission are left out of war, but do not rule out the possibility of [...]
At one time they were used to free themselves, and now a portion of them are only illegal weapons in the hands of citizens.
Most of the arms without permission in their hands are thought to have remained since the last war in Kosovo.
Now, 25 years from now, Kosovo Police consistently execute controls and shares for their seizure.
Single until October 15th 2024, police “have initiated 1333 cases from Article 366 possession, control, or unauthorized possession of weapons”.
The difference between two years ago is not great.
Complete on 2023 were 1,392 firearms seized, while in 2022 it was also high at 1,473.
Former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Salaam Shkodra commends institutions for the job, but needs a clarification by Kosovo police
“Should see if the number of those carrying illegal weapons has increased, or the number of police activities has increased, and if police activities have increased is to congratulate the police, but if the number of those carrying illegal weapons has increased, then suggests that the lack of weapons is increasing<1>, Shkodra said.
Shkodra does not dismiss the possibility, so that smuggling with weapons still continues in Kosovo.
As security connoisseur Valdet Hoxha feels.
Their <x0th number is changed, due to their addition to the fragility of the border, especially with 400km of the green line with Serbia, where it has never been expelled and sometimes smuggled into weapons, so there are two factors the remaining weapons from war and their increase in business and criminal aspect of”, Hoxha said.
Hoxha says criminal groups doing their transport have huge profits, but should not be forgotten that these weapons could also be introduced by good organised groups aimed at destabilizing the country.
According to non-governmental organisations in our country are believed to be over 200,000 weapons without permission. /Dukagini
