Risks from pesticides in Serbian fruits, consumers in Kosovo concerned

Days ago, Croatia and Slovenia blocked imports of fruit from Serbia. This is due to the conclusion that they have high levels of pesticides, harmful to human organization. Kosovo, meanwhile, imports other products from Serbia to high figures. Doubts about the safety of consumed products also raise consumers.

However, from Kosovo Customs, but also from the Food and Veterinary Agency, it is safe that there are trees and vegetables in the Kosovo market from the Serbian state.

But the consumer protection organisation says there are products entering Kosovo even without being subjected to controls.

In order not to be endangered by pesticides, citizens are recommended that before consumption, they clean fruits and vegetables. / RTSH
