Pacolli calls on SPAK to investigate the situation at Vlora Airport

Kosovo businessman Behgjet Pacolli has called on the Special Prosecutor against Corruption and Organised Crime in Albania to launch related investigations, as he has described, a serious scandal at Vlora Airport.

Pacolli has declared that citizens have not been informed of “the actual state of” at the airport, demanding that persons who, according to him, have acted contrary to the law be investigated.

The time to whiten the truth and put those responsible to justice is now”, Pacolli wrote.

Pacolli has requested a full, independent and inclusive “investigation from SPAK, without protection for anyone, regardless of the position or influence it may have.

For this reason, I urgently urge SPAK to start full investigations into this serious scandal, created and fed by individuals who have acted and continue to act contrary to the law, seriously violating the rule of law and judicial system of the Republic of Albania”. The time to whitewash the truth and put those responsible to justice is now. ”

He says the Vlora Airport terminal has been blocked and usurped for more than ten months, while he said the MABCO company and its subcontinents have already returned to their jobs.

“Today MABCO and our subcontractors have been able to return to their jobs. At this point, verification and investigation of damage caused by vandalism, theft and destruction” are under way, he has declared.

According to Pacolli, the damage includes the designed inventory and installed for airport operation, but it also includes equipment and tools belonging to subcontact companies.

He has also raised doubts about support or institutional tolerance against persons he has accused of illegal acts.

The most disturbing is the fact that their activity is allegedly backed or tolerated by individuals hiding behind institutional clothing”, Pacolli said, adding that in some cases, according to him, it has attempted to be influenced even in judicial processes.

He has stressed that the entire chain of people who may have been involved in alleged events should be identified, also calling for measures to ensure the safety of employees and contractor companies at Vlora Airport. /Periscope/
