The European Union's special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has provided details regarding meetings with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq.

Lajcak, among other things, indicated he has reminded the two leaders that all agreements reached in the dialogue should be implemented without any conditions or delays.

I met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti. We talked about preparations for the upcoming summit of the high-level dialogue in September, with the focus on normalising relations and implementing the EU declaration of June 3rd. I also raised my concerns about the situation in northern Kosovo”, Lajcak wrote.

The European emissary argued that with Vuciqi has talked about lowering tensions in the north and holding new local elections.

“From Bled, I flew to Belgrade, where I met with Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq. We talked in detail about efforts to reduce tensions and hold new local elections in northern Kosovo, as well as implementation of all Dialogue Agreements”, he continued.

He stressed in the end that preparations are continuing for the next meeting between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels.

“I remembered the two leaders that all dialogue agreements remain valid and binding for both sides and must be fully implemented without any conditions or delays. Our discussions will continue and we are preparing for the leadership meeting in Brussels on September 14th for another round of talks at the highest level”.
