Full response:
The NGO Coalition for Child Protection KOMF, which represents 35 non-government organisations, expresses concern over published film pictures concerning the approach of educators and the treatment of a 3-year-old child in the garden “Our Guam” in Fushe Kosovo.
Nuts of nutrition, rest, sleep or other activities and games are of educational and resortive nature. Therefore, any improper, rude, or violent approach used by educators to force the child to carry out them through pressure, withdrawal, procrastination, verbal or physical violence is a serious offense that harms all spheres of child development.
What needs do children have?
A child's most basic need is the love and care of parents, educators, and all around him. The kids need love, let's hug them, look them in the eye, name them, praise them, laugh with them. This is the foundation of a secure and healthy emotional relationship with the child.
Children need to feel physically and emotionally secure and secure in any environment that we need to provide.
Children need help and emotional support to understand and deal with their emotions and challenges. They should be helped to develop their full potential by promoting self-control, self-confidence, self-esteem, cognitive and cognitive capabilities, including self-awareness.
In Kosovo, any form of violence, including physical violence, psychological violence and neglect, is prohibited with the Child Protection Law and other relevant legislation.
Given this serious event, The KOMF calls for institutions responsible in fulfilling their mandate to immediately take the necessary actions and measures under the legislation in force.
The KEPF calls for intensifying monitoring and systematic inspection of gardens through inspectors and consultations with parents in order to prevent such cases.
KOMF reexemplifies once again that gardens should have specific policy or regulations for protecting a child in order to create an internal system that prevents and reacts to child rights violations.
We have collective responsibility to ensure that our children develop in a safe and caring environment, where their fundamental rights are protected and are the foundation of society's development.
