“This decision conflicts with continuing efforts to escalate tensions between Kosovo and Serbia”, the spokesman Stano has named.
He reiterated the European Union's continued calls for close co-ordination and co-operation for all decisions affecting the fragile security situation in northern Kosovo and addressing this issue within dialogue. Stano added that this has not happened again with recent decisions.
The issue of Serbian structures according to him should be addressed in the Brussels dialogue and resolved in the context of the establishment of the majority Serb Commission Association in Kosovo.
Stano reiterated Brussels' call to organise extraordinary local elections for the four northern municipalities as soon as possible, with no precondition participation of the country's Serbs, because according to him, April elections -- although legal -- did not provide a long-term political solution. /rtk
