Qumanova Group inmates seek transfer to Kosovo

“From inside the prison have applied for transfer to hold the sentence in their mother state. Also, defence lawyers have been addressed to the Ministry of Justice as a competent body dealing with the case to transfer these convicts to their mother state, lawyer Ibrahim Bajrami has said.

Northern Macedonia Justice Minister Krenar Lloga said that to become the transfer of the group, the same judicial decisions that have been made in Macedonia must be valid in Kosovo.

There are over 10 steps to come to the signing of transfer of prisoners from the Kumanovo Group. One of those steps is for Kosovo's judicial bodies to agree with what cases should be filled with the same judicial decisions that have been made in Macedonia as well. This step, when I spoke at the time, is open, and now we will see the institutions how judicial procedures will flow, because there are steps not only related to the Ministry of Justice but are related to judicial organs, even to embassies and the Ministry of Internal Affairs”, Lloga has said, reports Ratk.

For the events of Kumanovo in 2015, the Constitutional Court of Skopje, in 2017, sentenced 37 members of this group to a total of 746 years in prison.
