According to humanitarian associations Wagner is responsible for many massacres in the civilian population of these areas.
Initially, Wagner Group had about 5 thousand effective, mainly former professional military, but their numbers rose significantly during the war in Ukraine, reaching up to 50,000 soldiers, where 80% of them were imprisoned.
Sanctions against Wagner
So Prigozy and Wagner, the United States, have imposed a series of sanctions. Initially, they started in 2016 over the conflict in Ukraine until, in February 2018, Prygozh and 13 other citizens were accused of having intervened in the 2018 elections in favour of Donald Trump's election campaign.
Wagner engagement in other conflicts
In 2015, forces and mercenaries are in Syria, where they fight against rebel forces. In 2017, Wagner's forces appeared in Libya, supporting the forces of General Khalifa Haftar. They have also participated in military operations in Sudan, the Republic of Central Africa, Mozambique, while Islamic groups in Mali fight by supporting government forces.
Wagner's income
President Putin said Wagner Group had been awarded a $1 billion contract by the Defence Ministry during 2022-2023.
According to the U.S. Treasury Department, Prigozy has made revenue with Wagner from their presence in several other countries.
His companies own gold and diamonds mines in the Central African Republic and Sudan.

Wagner Crimes
Prosecutors in Ukraine accuse Wagner of killing civilians and torture in the vicinity of Kiev in 2022 along with regular military forces. German intelligence says Wagner troops are also linked to the massacres of civilians in Buchan on March 2022. The French government has accused Wagner of raping and robbing civilians in the Central African Republic. The United States in 2020 accused Wagner of deploying mines to Libya's capital of Tripoli.
How did the clash with Russian army leaders begin?
Pigozin has repeatedly accused Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and Armed Forces head Valeriy Gerasimov of incompetence. Bloods became more heated when Shoigu ordered that soldiers sign contracts by putting Wagner in their control.
On June 23rd, Pigozin accused army leaders of bombing Wagner's forces. A day later he took control of the town of Rostov on Don from which he started and marched to Moscow, where he would aim to evacuate army leaders.
On the 25th, with President Lukaschenko Pigozin's intervention, he pulls out troops and heads to Belarus.
Wagner Group is dismantled by Putin, while all those who have not participated in desertion can sign contracts with the Russian Army on 1 July
