To free the building in the Bosniaks' neighbourhood in northern Mitrovica, which is exploited by Serbia's parallel structures, the municipal inspectorate has been activated.

The inspector wants her release, and the deadline is until 25 August.

The North Mitrovica municipality explains that the deadline for release of the object is three days.

The municipality has not been offered documentation on which this object was used.

The 3-day <x0);Aphat ends on Friday, the date 25.08.2023. The president's decision will be implemented by northern Mitrovica municipality officials”.

Later, the municipality explains there will be interventions for overhauling the object.

Workers of Serbia's parallel structures are continuing to work on the facility Thursday as well.

RTK has tried to get an answer from them, but the same people have refused to speak to the camera, nor have they allowed us to enter the facility.

Friday is the deadline to free the facility.

From the Serbian List, through a statement, have indicated that employees of Serbia's institutions have been notified they must leave the facility within three days.

After the international community's invitation for the illegal mayors to work from alternative locations, they went a step further and wanted to take away our” spaces.

The United States Embassy in Kosovo said Wednesday that the local authorities' decision in northern Mitrovica to remove Serbian institutions from the municipal building in Bosniaks' neighbourhood has not been taken in co-ordination with the international community, nor has it been met by its demands for non-compliance and actions that could escalate the situation.

The European Union (BE) said on Thursday that the North Mitrovica municipality's decision -- to seek the release of a municipal building from persons working for Serbia's administration -- is contrary to efforts to deespass the situation and reduce tensions in reports between Kosovo and Serbia.

On August 22nd, local authorities in North Mitrovica ʹ one of the four majority Serb municipalities in northern Kosovo delivered their subject to the Serbian List's deputy chairman, Igor Simuri, a report saying that Serbian institutions should release “in three days.

EU spokeswoman Peter Stano told the media on August 24th that “we are concerned about the impact that will have on the security situation the recent decisions of the North Mitrovica Community Administration for the use of space and public and municipal buildings“.

He has reiterated the requirements for close co-operation and co-ordination for all decisions that may have an impact on the fragile security situation in northern Kosovo, and for this issue to be addressed within the EU facilitated dialogue.

This decision has not been the case. The issue of Serbia-led structures should be addressed in the EU-launched dialogue and should be resolved in the context of the establishment of the Association/Uniting of the Serb Major Communities“.

Stano reiterated earlier EU stances that municipal elections in northern Kosovo, even though they were conducted according to Kosovo's legal framework, due to very low turnout, did not provide long-term solutions.

The “is important to organise local information elections as soon as possible in which Kosovo Serbs will participate without preconditions”, he underlined.

Four institutions being funded by the Government of Serbia are located in the contested building: The Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, the Centre for Social Work from Vushtrria and the Administrative District of Kosovo Mitrovica.

In the four majority Serb municipalities in northern Kosovo, northern Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Zvecan and Zubin Potok ? Albanian leaders took power in late May, while municipal buildings have entered with police assistance.
