“We are witnessing that in Kosovo, high profile corruption cases have often ended up without punctuation, due to shortcomings in the investigative phase that have, in turn, produced nonqualative charges. Therefore, KDI views the development of a more detailed and comprehensive process of investigation as necessary so that persons potentially responsible can face justice”, it says. Statement.
Today's “arrests of persons suspected of involvement in abuses with state reserves, managed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, are indications of the presence of high-level corruption even in the most sensitive areas, which have a social impact directly on citizens' lives. Moreover, such cases undermine public confidence in institutions.
We are witnessing that in Kosovo, high profile corruption cases have often ended up without punctuation, due to shortcomings in the investigative phase that have, in turn, produced nonqualative charges. Therefore, KDI views the development of a more detailed and comprehensive process of investigation as necessary so that those potentially responsible can face justice.
Given the sensitivity of the case and the involvement of senior ministerial officials, KDI estimates there is also a need to release Minister Roseta Hajdari's post to enable an effective and politically undicted criminal process. Once, KDI requires all the acters, particularly ruling officials, to be reserved from any statements or involvement that might affect the investigation process and the independence of justice institutions”.
