His lawyer, Besnik Berisha, has confirmed the news.
After evidence delivered by the defense and clarifications given at the hearing session where the Prosecutor's request for the detention measure was addressed, the prosecutor representing the proposal withdrew from the” request.
“Alil Demiri is currently free”, his lawyer, Besnik Berisha, said.
Lawyer Berisha was also convinced yesterday that Demiri's ban and arrest had become illegal and constituted flagrant violation of legal and constitutional rights against him.
Berisha said last night that Demiri cannot be extradited to the Republic of Northern Macedonia, as the request of Macedonian authorities has been decided and rejected by the Kosovo court in both instances.
“Alil Demiri was arrested and banned illegally, given an interpolal order for the case already handled by our court. The RMV authorities' request for his extradition has already been decided and rejected by the Kosovo court in both instances.
He cannot be extradited to northern Macedonia, and I am convinced he will be returned tomorrow to his family and friends”, Berisha said.
The new eventary request that can be revealed by the RMV authorities constitutes tried and handled cases several times.
That is why the arrest and ban was wrong and constituted illegal action. It must be released because every last minute in the ban constitutes flagrant violation of legal and constitutional rights for Alil Demirin”, lawyer Berisha said.
“He is and remains innocent of the structured crime and executed by the secret services, which former Northern Macedonia prime minister himself has talked about, concludes Berisha.
Otherwise, the “Monstra” case is known to the public and concerns the five-fold murder at Smilkov Lake in April 2012, and for this work some of the six accused were sentenced to life imprisonment and some to maximum punishment.
