Kosovo Serb politician Rada Trajkovic, currently an adviser to the ministry for Kthim and Community, Nenad Rassic, in the Government of Kosovo, says northern Serbs should accept young police officers, who are Serbs of other Kosovo municipalities.
Trajkovic has said it is dangerous that northern Serb citizens do not accept them as holders of the order of Serbs from other Kosovo cities who have recently been recruited.
“Dismissing the acceptance of Kosovo Serb police officers from other parts of Kosovo, Serbs in the north are strengthening the democratic argument that as a community do not support rule of law. It's dangerous. The north must have a police force reflecting the ethnic composition of the majority community so the law can be effectively implemented”, Trajkovic wrote.
“Serbs working in the Kosovo Police are not less Serbs than their brothers in the north and they should be accepted as brothers. If the north could tolerate for years the local power people “of its”, who persecuted dissidents irresponsibly (and to extinction), what concerns them with these people”, she asks.
According to her, northern Serbs must exploit international attention to make decisions about their future.
“Serbs in the north must make an important decision for their future: want to build normal lives for themselves in Kosovo or continue to follow those who brought them into this situation? They currently have the international community's attention and it is important that they finally use this attention wisely and precisely”, said Traykovic's reaction.
