Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, has reacted to yesterday's meeting in Brussels of the chief negotiators with Slovak emissary Miroslav Lajcak, of which there has been almost no progress.
Rama in his response to Mrisolaac Lajcak's announcement, has said the EU must act decisively to ensure quick implementation of the Constitutional Agreement.
The head of the Albanian Government has said that the Western Balkans region cannot become a hostage to an endless crisis between Kosovo and Serbia, and according to him should not allow Kosovo's north to become a “Little Donbas” from the riots sparked by Russia.
Rama has also said that neither dialogue should be allowed to become a game of the Old Balkans, where parties blame each other for their lack of real and strong will.
“The EU must act decisively to ensure a quick implementation of the Constitutional Agreement. Our region cannot become hostage to an endless crisis between Kosovo and Serbia. We cannot allow either the north of Kosovo, where the border between organised crime and local policy is clouded, to become a Little Donbas from the riots sparked by Russia, nor the dialogue becomes a guilt-free game of the Old Balkans from the lack of a real and strong will of parties involved in it! Discussions are good, but what the region needs is some progress before it is too late”, Rama wrote.
