Nagip Krasniqi continues detention measure for two months

The news has confirmed for “Justice Vow”, Pristina Foundation Court Information spokeswoman Milinda Gashi, reports “Justice Vow”.
Subtitled to your request for information, we inform you that following the request of the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo to continue the detention measure in the criminal case against indictees N. K, the Special Department of the Foundation Court in Pristina has made a decision and approved the Special Prosecutor's request of the Republic of Kosovo for continuing the detention measure against indictees N. K, so the detention measure has been continued in length of 2 (two) months.”, says the court's response.
Otherwise, Krasniqi was arrested on April 19th, following raids conducted by the Special Investigation Unit at his office in KEK and his two residences, and the same was sent to maintenance.
He allegedly committed criminal acts “Use of official task”, “Influence” and “Conflict interest”.
While, on April 20th, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) submitted a request to the Foundation regarding the appointment of the detention measure to Krasniqi. After holding the hearing, the Constitutional Court in Pristina had assigned the KEK director a month of detention.
Against the Constitutional Court's decision in Pristina for the appointment of a month-long detention measure had filed a complaint against Krasniqi's defence, with proposals for the Court of Appeals to approve the complaint as based and to release the defendant from custody by assigning him a softer measure.
While, on May 8th 2023, the Court of Appeals has rejected Nagip Krasniqi's defence request, leaving the same one under the detention measure, arguing it could affect witnesses.
Likewise, the request for Krasniqi's release from the detention measure, the defence had also exercised in the Supreme, but the third scale had also refused him.
Otherwise, Nagip Krasniqi was suspended from KEK chief executive post on April 25th 2023.
