The reason for long lines in Morina customs has become a decision by the Government of Kosovo that requires any citizen who does not have Kosovo license plates in his vehicle to pay a insurance fee.
Kurti Government's decision comes at a time when a high number of Kosovo Albanians living abroad return home on vacation, passing to border points from Albania.
There are thousands of Kosovo citizens who choose to travel through the port of dursi. Then with cars they have, mostly with foreign license plates, immigrants travel towards the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
This Kosovo government decision and long procedures for collecting this tax on borders have caused long lines.
Even the high temperatures involving both countries in line become even harder.
Albanian Police Border Services in Morina began also due to high temperatures have distributed water to drivers as well as passengers with small children in their midst.
