Today it is 13 years since the International Court of Justice at The Hague has announced the advisory decision, under which the declaration of Kosovo's declaration of independence has not violated international law.
With 10 votes to and 4 against members of the International Court of The Hague had decided in favour of Kosovo, thus rejecting Serbia's request for violations of international law.
The LDK has published a communique for the event.
“Today 13 years has proven the legitimacy of our right to freedom, independence and democracy.
On July 22nd 2010, the International Court of Justice confirmed that Kosovo's declaration of independence does not present violations of international law”, the LDK communiqué said.
At that time, Kosovo did together its best and most capable people in co-operation with strategic friends, representing and supporting Kosovo in this central process for the country.
This fair judgment and long-awaited decision gave the final seal to justice, and it paved the way for Kosovo to continue seeking involvement as an equal state among democratic states.
In all of this challenging journey and at the same time, Kosovo stood by the non-reserved US coalition and other international friends.
The LDK remains proud of the irreplaceable role it played in this process, and in this worthy course of Kosovo”, the LDK writes.
