Germany takes first place in the EU in terms of the number of drug deaths. Here's a review of dangerous drugs, the potential of addiction, toxicity and their acceptance in society.

The two girls were found to die of ecstasy in late June in northern Germany are not a rare case. Every year in Germany, about 1900 people die from drugs, is released by the Federal Criminal Bureau. And the figures are nearly 9 percent higher than a year ago. Germany thus ranks first place for drug deaths in Europe (how so: approximately 6,000 deaths marked in 2022, according to the European Institute for Monitoring Drugs and Poverty from Drugs (EMCDDA). Such unexpected deaths can be prevented, experts say: First, by sensibility, but also by creating opportunities for young people to control their drug composition.

Free and anonymous check: A third of overdoted or contaminated substances

Such an opportunity is offered in Berlin. Since early June 2023, drug users in Berlin have a free chance to test the substances they buy on the black market. They may lead to a laboratory in which to analyze the components and detect uncleanness. Within three days they get the result. In Berlin, the demand for drug tests was so high in the first few weeks that much evidence could not be accepted. Foreground output: One third of the substances represented are overdoted or contaminated.

If we had national drug control and if this were widely communicated, maybe we could have prevented tragic accidents,” says toxicologist and drug expert Fabian Pitter Steinmez.

The Federal government is paving the way for this practice to enter the entire range territory. Germany's Federal Parliament has passed the relevant law, but now it must be passed into the Land Room.

What are the most common drugs, and how dangerous are they?

Amphetamine and methamphetamine

Syntheticly produced amphetamine and its relative, methamphetamine ʹ also known as the Crystal meth crystal meth, has been in circulation since the late 19th century. These euphorics were used in medicine until the 1970 ' s. Amphetamine was used against depression, to curb appetite, and to treat asthma. Soldiers used it as a stimulant in combat. Today, amphetamine is used to combat attention disorder and hyperactivity (ADHD). Low doses do not harm human brain cells.

But the drugs are common in the techno scene. And it becomes dangerous because it is used in doses higher than in medicine. Amphetamine prevents people from resting. The result is insomnia, trembling, heartbeat, and heart attack or stroke.

The potential for addiction is average (1.67). If overuse or overdosis is long used, amphetamine has a toxic effect: There is a danger of organ damage, muscle decay, and kidney attacks. Since amphetamine is taken from the nose, it can cause the nazal septium break. This leads to paranoid illusions, depression, psychosis, and even coma.

Metamphetamine (Chrystal Meth) is more dangerous than simple amphetamine. It leads much faster to psychological dependence (the potential of addiction is 2,39 to 3.0), and addicts need higher and higher doses. Addicts lose weight faster. The mucosa membranes of the mouth and nose decay, and they lose their teeth.

Sleep Bars

Funnirazepami, also known as Rohipnol, has the exact opposite effect. That's why some addicts use it to relax after a high dose of amphetamine. Most often, it is recommended as a sleep aid. In combination with alcohol or drugs that relieve the pain, a knockout cocktail (K.O) is made. The victims that have taken such a mixture will remember nothing later.

Hangers usually use it to replace heroin. Funnirazepami leads to psychological dependence after just two weeks of use (the potential of addiction: 1.88). Drugs do not always have a soothing effect: It can also provoke anxiety, nightmares, and hallucinations.

Opium and heroin

Heroin stems from morphine, the main ingredient of raw opium - the opium poppie. Morphine is licensed as a sedative. It can only be used against severe pain, such as through visual medicine or acute relief of pain in case of heart attack.

Unlike morphine, heroin is not only anesthetic but also euphoric. It breaks the natural pace of sleep.

Overuse of two drugs can lead to respiratory failure and respiratory collapses. This danger is particularly high among addicts who use heroin in combination with alcohol or flunitrazepam.

The toxicity of heroin, such as highly dangerous addiction drugs, has long been overrated. In a study conducted in Bonn, Germany, long - term addicts were treated with heroin under surveillance. One control group received methadone, which is a drug substitute (the potential of addiction: 2.08) Output: The health and social status of heroin patients improved compared to the methadone group. Thereafter, heroin was adopted as medicinal drugs in Germany.

Cocaine and Explosive Cocaine

Cocaine (potential addiction: 2,39) is a substance derived from the cocaine plant. When salt extracted from this substance in a drug lab is mixed with sodium bicarbons, bread sodas, and both heats up, it gets cocaine explosives, crack.
Cocaine has a euphoric effect, removes hunger and fatigue. For a long time cocaine has been a favorite drug on parties, or it was used by men with performance - oriented guidance. But cocaine users pay a high price: high pulse, blood vessels narrowing, increased blood pressure, and the risk of a heart attack.Symbolfoto: Line of cocaine on a glass table

The long use of cocaine causes paranoid hallucinations up to psychosis, which may be irreversible-i.e. incurable. Taking cocaine out of the mouth destroys the mucous membranes of the mouth, while nose-breasting destroys the nose.Photo: Geisler-Photopress/picture-allition

Disorders in hunger, thirst, and hyperactivity can lead to bodily weakness. Long use causes paranoid hallucinations to psychosis, which may be irreversible-i.e. incurable. Taking cocaine out of the mouth destroys the mucous membranes of the mouth, while nose-breasting destroys the nose.

Especially in the case of cocaine, the lethal dose is almost unpredictable because drugs are much stronger than cocaine. In addition, explosive cocaine has higher psychological potential (over 3.0), ahead of heroin, nicotine, and alcohol.

LSD

Lysergic acid diethylamide, also called acid, is a synthetic drug that leads to a much stronger perception of the environment. In the 1960s-70s, the LSD was used by hippies to enhance perception and consciousness.

In people with a predisposition to it, the LSD can cause irreversible psychosis. LSD user on these occasions “ngic on the trip”, as it is called in the jargon. However, the risk of deadly poisoning is lower than alcohol or nicotine. The potential of LSD addiction is considered low, with 1.23.

On the other hand, the risk of accidents after taking LSD is enormous, as users under the influence of LSD can take irrational action, overestimate their capabilities, and, for example, jump out of the window and believe it flies. Recently, LSD has been allowed in several countries to treat psychiatric disorders.

Marijuana and hashish

Lawmakers in more and more countries are discussing the legalization of the marijuana either for medical treatment or for an appetite stimulant, HIV or cancer, as well as for entertainment.

Substance tetrahydrocanabiol (THC) in cannabis has a relaxing and anesthetic effect. The addiction potential is valued as <x1 middle>” in 1.51.
THC initially affects drug users through a changed, more intense perception of the environment, especially music, taste and sense of time. Typical side effect: sweet, sour, and salty wishes.

When used for a long time, it can lead to a decline in thinking and learning ability, perhaps through a change in the flow of blood into the brain. Especially dangerous are carcinogenic toxins that consumers absorb when they smoke. Risks can be stronger than pure tobacco smoke, since burning hashish resin produces other harmful cocktails. /dw
