Bridge legs in Greece's town of Patras, one dead and eight injured

Part of a bridge collapsed Sunday in Patras, Greece's third largest city, killing one person and wounding eight, the fire brigade said.

Firefighters' rescue teams were on the scene to reveal every person blocked, said fire brigade spokesman Ioannis Artopios.

One piece turned into broken concrete plates and metal bars, dozens of rescuers are working instead.

Another fireman official said the bridge was closed last week due to reconstruction works, Reuters writes
