Thomas Waitz, Austrian MEP of the European Parliament, said the EU's emissary for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, is openly supporting Serbia against Kosovo.
In an interview for the “Balkan Talks” show, he underlined that the Kosovo government is somewhat fed up with the sit-down situation at a negotiating table with the negotiator on the other hand, which neither accepts as legitimate negotiator.
“Z. Lajcak has a story that is not making him the most likely candidate for an impartial negotiation. He was the foreign minister of Slovakia, of a country that has not yet recognised Kosovo as an independent state and was the foreign minister at this very time”.
So how can you be a negotiator between the two sides if you and your story have actually not recognised one of the two negotiating partners on the table? I understand that the Kosovo government is somewhat fed up with the situation of landing at a negotiating table with the negotiator on the other hand, who neither accepts you as legitimate negotiator. In essence, the Serbian side says: “What are you negotiating with us? Your country is ours anyway”, he said among other things. /Euronews. al
