After the marathon hearing with debate, Albania's Assembly adopted the draft “for controlling the cultivation and processing of cannabis plants and producing its byproducts for medical and industrial purposes”.
The law was passed by 69 votes, 23 against and 3 abstentions. The three MPs who abstained were Socialists Fatmir Xhafaj, Pandeli Majko and Erjon Brace.
With debate in the Parliament, the opposition voiced doubts about why the bill was passed by accelerated procedure on parliamentary commissions by the Socialists, and there is no study on the benefits of Albania's economy in relation to the social, health and criminal risks that marijuana is using.
However, the Socialist majority approved the bill with its votes, to legalise the cultivation and processing of cannabis for medical and industrial purposes, repeating that the controls will be strict and financial gain opportunities and employment are huge. /Top Channel
