Former VV delegation: Kosovo risks non-membership in KiE, internationals are blaming us for failing to co-ordinate

He said, not membership in this very important mechanism, especially for human rights, could also come as a result of the failure to comply with the Constitutional Court's decision on property for the Decani Monastery.
He says internationals have berated Kosovo that for actions in the north it has not been co-ordinated with them and not that it is not in its right. And when he spoke of reports that the visa liberalisation process could be suspended, he said, until official confirmation can be stated for such an epilogue.
Kosovo has only received several sentences with its suspension from Dfender 1923, which is most dangerous, is that Kosovo will find it difficult to join the Council of Europe despite the support it has received, this, according to the QUINT, is also related to the implementation of the Constitutional Court's decision on Decani Monastery properties. It could happen that Kosovo risks membership in the Council of Europe, this could be the most direct epilogue”.
There's been speculation that this might even happen, but so far we have no confirmation that this is being considered, so unless there's something official we can't say for sure that there can be this epilogue”.
The international “have not charged it, not that it is not in its right, but their concern has been that the action has been uncoordinated with them and has been unilaterally foolish”. He says that after statements that the US has no will to lobby for Kosovo recognition, Serbia can exploit this in every respect.
He adds that the international community must increase pressure to calm the situation in the north.
The “undoubtedly made it clear to Ambassador Havenier, already in Washington, there is no will to lobby for Kosovo membership or to ensure recognition. If the U.S. gives up the lobby I don't believe any country will be the priority of this” process.
Serbia can use it for other situations, but there are agreements for recognition in Brussels and Ohrid to interrupt the lobby. If there is the international community's will to stop the spiral in which tension between Kosovo and Serbia is introduced, then maybe it cannot exploit this chance. That depends also on how crucial the international community will be to overcome this situation that has been created between the two countries”. / EO
